American rapper Kanye West recently posted a series of messages on social platform X, expressing his "longing" for Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and calling him a "god on earth." These remarks have once again raised public concerns about his mental state and values.
In a post on Saturday, West wrote: "I miss Saudi Arabia. MBS is the greatest man I've ever seen. No one dares to mess with him. He is my hero, a god on earth." The post also included a blurred photo of the de facto leader of Saudi Arabia. Minutes later, he posted another photo of the Crown Prince, writing: "Thank you to my brother Swizz for connecting me with your close friend, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman."
These posts suggest that West was introduced to the Saudi Crown Prince through the famous music producer Swizz Beatz. Swizz Beatz has a long-standing connection with Saudi Arabia, where he founded a creative agency, co-opened a roller skating rink in the desert city of AlUla, and spent millions of dollars buying 48 racing camels in Saudi Arabia.
It is worth noting that West made these remarks while also posting a series of anti-Semitic and inflammatory remarks on the X platform for three consecutive days. These remarks included: "I am a Nazi," "I love Hitler," "Hitler is very cool," and "You can do business with Jews, but they will always steal." He also stated: "Any Jew who does business with me needs to know that I don't like or trust any Jews, and I am completely sober and have not been drinking Hennessy."
West first revealed his meeting with Mohammed bin Salman in December 2023 during a live stream on social media. At the time, he made a series of rambling remarks in front of a group of supporters, interspersed with anti-Jewish slurs. Previously, West had spent three months in Saudi Arabia, collaborating with singer Ty Dolla Sign on the album "Vultures 1." West reportedly stayed at the Banyan Tree resort in AlUla and shared photos of his recording studio set up in the Saudi desert. In October 2023, West also attended the boxing match between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou in Riyadh. After visiting Saudi Arabia, the award-winning musician revealed that he wanted to build a 405-square-kilometer city called Droam in the Middle East. Last month, he further unveiled the city's plans on Instagram, stating that its core design principles included "no stairs," "no glass," and "endless roads (no beginning, no end)."
