Abstract: Matt Kuhnemann's bowling action is under ICC review after the Sri Lanka series. Concerns were raised after the second Test, marking the first time in his career.

Australian left-arm spin bowler Matt Kuhnemann has been reported for a suspected illegal bowling action following the series against Sri Lanka. He performed exceptionally well in the two Test matches in Galle, taking 16 wickets at an average of 17.18, showcasing his talent on the international stage.

Cricket Australia has confirmed that match officials raised concerns about Kuhnemann's bowling action after the second Test match. The association stated that the Australian team had received the concerns raised by match officials after the second Test in Galle and will support Matt through the process of clarifying the matter. This support aims to ensure a fair and thorough investigation into the allegations.

The statement also mentioned that Matt has participated in 124 professional matches since his debut in 2017, including 5 Test matches and 4 One Day Internationals. He has also played 55 Big Bash League games since 2018. This marks the first time in his eight-year professional cricket career that his bowling action has been questioned. Cricket Australia will liaise closely with the ICC and independent experts, following the International Cricket Council (ICC) regulations to address the situation.

According to regulations, a delivery is considered illegal if the degree of elbow extension exceeds 15 degrees during the bowling action. Kuhnemann is now required to undergo testing on his bowling action to prove its legality. Until the issue is resolved, Cricket Australia and Matt himself will refrain from making further comments on the matter, allowing the investigation to proceed without external influence.
