Abstract: JLP, *Australian Survivor* host, enjoys the "spicy" cast in the upcoming *Brains V Brawn* season. Fan-favorite challenge "Last Gasp" returns.

Jonathan LaPaglia, better known as JLP, has been the steadfast and genuine host of *Australian Survivor* since its premiere in 2015. Over the decade of hosting this iconic reality show, he has become known for his softly spoken questions and the solemn call of "Survivors, ready? Go!"

Surprisingly, he is actually quite witty and humorous. This season's cast may be more eccentric than any previous season, and fortunately, the 55-year-old host enjoys his slightly "spicy" contestants. "I do enjoy some of the cheeky interactions, when they stand up and give me a bit back," he said. He added, "We've got a lot of big personalities this season, which I'm really enjoying, it's been fun."

*Survivor Australia: Brains V Brawn* will be the first of two seasons in 2025, followed by the highly anticipated *Survivor: Australia vs. The World*. Currently, the *Survivor* production team is bringing us great entertainment, with the "Brawn Tribe" including a millionaire who burned a tribe member's hat at night, and the "Brains Tribe" led by a witch who founded her own coven.

We asked JLP to help us interpret these chaotic situations and put him in the hot seat of Tribal Council with some probing questions. When asked whether he would be better suited to join the "Brains Tribe" or the "Brawn Tribe," JLP modestly stated that he is more of a thinker, but probably not good at either. Speaking of the most feared challenge, he mentioned "Last Gasp," a brutal challenge in which the breathing space under a metal grate in the water gradually decreases as the tide rises, revealing that this fan-favorite challenge will reappear this season.

Regarding the Tribal Council situation, JLP explained that the production team films on the beach around the clock and sends updates back to headquarters via WhatsApp text chains, from which he needs to sift through a large amount of information. Although they have story discussions before Tribal Council, the actual situation often differs from their expectations. When asked who would win in a showdown with *American Survivor* host Jeff Probst, JLP humbly suggested that Probst would likely win. As for what he would bring to a desert island, he joked that he might choose a coffee machine over his wife. Finally, he revealed that the song currently stuck in his head is Queen's "Cool Cat."
