Gerwyn Price defeated Luke Littler 6-3 in the final of Night Six of the 2025 Premier League Darts in Nottingham, securing his second event win. The Welshman, who was lively throughout the night, has now won his last six matches against the teenage sensation.
Despite Littler recording a higher average of 103.39 compared to Price's 94.10, Price proved more clinical on the doubles, hitting six of his 11 attempts. In the second leg, 2021 world champion Price broke Littler's throw, but the 18-year-old responded in the seventh leg, breaking back to reduce the deficit to 3-4.
However, Price immediately broke again and eventually sealed the victory, joining Littler and Luke Humphries as the only players to have won two nights this year. "I've been trying to be more positive and it's showing on the dartboard," Price told Sky Sports. "I've been so negative towards myself over the last couple of years. I might say I enjoy it and love it, but behind the scenes it's tough. I'm glad to get the win tonight. Another win against Luke, because I don't think it's going to last too long."
Price added: "He is the best player in the world and he will be for the next 10 years. I think he will break Phil Taylor's 16 world titles record. There's nobody in the PDC at the moment who can stop him - only the youngsters, the JDC, will stop him. We can't stop him - he's only going to get better."
Littler earlier defeated world number one Humphries 6-4 in an exciting quarter-final match. He had trailed 3-4 at one point, with Humphries' missed doubles on tops proving costly. Littler seized the opportunity, taking out a brilliant 344 in six darts, including a 167 finish, to level the match and ultimately secure the win, taking him to the top of the table. The Warrington-born teenager also performed well in the semi-final, beating Rob Cross 6-3, with finishes of 167, 127 and 164, all on the bullseye.
In the quarter-finals, Price battled to a 6-4 victory over the still winless Stephen Bunting before producing a dominant performance in the semi-finals, defeating Michael van Gerwen 6-1. He raced to a 5-0 lead and looked set for his first whitewash since 2023, but Van Gerwen prevented this by hitting a double in the sixth leg. Seven-time champion Van Gerwen, who beat Nathan Aspinall 6-4 in the quarter-finals, has won five of his six quarter-final matches this year but has lost all of his semi-final matches.
Here are the results from Night Six of the Premier League Darts: Final: Luke Littler 3-6 Gerwyn Price; Semi-Finals: Luke Littler 6-3 Rob Cross, Gerwyn Price 6-1 Michael van Gerwen; Quarter-Finals: Luke Humphries 4-6 Luke Littler, Rob Cross 6-2 Chris Dobey, Stephen Bunting 4-6 Gerwyn Price, Nathan Aspinall 4-6 Michael van Gerwen.
The Premier League Darts follows a league format, with the initial 16 weeks constituting the league phase, featuring quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final each night. The eight players are guaranteed to face the other seven in the quarter-finals in Weeks 1-7 and 9-15, with the fixtures for Weeks 8 and 16 determined by the standings. This means that on the final night of the league phase in Sheffield, we could see fourth place play fifth place, with play-off places potentially on the line. Players earn two points for winning a quarter-final match, an additional point for winning a semi-final match, and five points for winning the night. After the league phase, the top four players advance to the Play-Offs Night at the O2 Arena in London on May 23, with first place playing fourth place and second place playing third place in a best-of-19 legs (first to 10) format. The final is played in a best-of-21 legs (first to 11) format. If players are tied on points after 16 weeks, the ranking is determined by the number of nights won and then by the number of legs won.
Here are the order of play for Night Seven of the Premier League Darts: Cardiff, March 20, 19:00 GMT: Chris Dobey v Stephen Bunting, Luke Humphries v Michael van Gerwen, Luke Littler v Nathan Aspinall, Gerwyn Price v Rob Cross.
