Abstract: Van Dijk unsure about Liverpool future despite ongoing talks. Salah may leave, Alexander-Arnold silent. All contracts expire in June.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has stated that he "doesn't know" whether he will continue to stay at Anfield next season. The Dutch center-back is one of three high-profile players whose current contracts expire in June, the other two being Salah and Alexander-Arnold.

Renewal negotiations between Liverpool and Van Dijk have been ongoing for some time, and the 33-year-old defender had previously expressed his desire to extend his contract. However, following Liverpool's penalty shootout loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, he admitted that there is still some uncertainty surrounding his future.

"At the moment, I still don't know. Really," Van Dijk said. "At the moment, I don't even know what will happen next year. If someone says they know, they are lying. Everyone knows there are some conversations going on behind the scenes, but that's it."

Salah was in tears after Liverpool's loss to Paris Saint-Germain, and he stated in January that this would be his last season at Anfield because he and the club have made "little progress" on a new contract. Alexander-Arnold has remained tight-lipped about his future, although Real Madrid is interested in him, and he stated last year that contract negotiations with Liverpool "will not be conducted publicly." The 26-year-old was injured in Tuesday's game against the French side and is expected to miss Sunday's League Cup final against Newcastle.

Liverpool currently lead the Premier League by 15 points and had been making strides in European competition until their penalty shootout loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16. Van Dijk was asked whether discussions about his own future had been put on hold in order to focus on matters on the pitch. The center-back explained: "There is no pause. Nothing has been paused. Listen, there are still 10 games to play in the Premier League, and that is my entire focus. If there is news, you will know. I don't even know myself."
