Trump sets up Murphy quarter-final at Players Championship

World number one Judd Trump defeated Chinese player Lei Peifan at the Players Championship, successfully advancing to the quarter-finals, where he will face Shaun Murphy.

In the match held in Telford, England's Trump delivered a strong performance, defeating Lei Peifan with a score of 6-2. The turning point of the match came in the sixth frame when Lei Peifan missed a seemingly simple opportunity, failing to level the score to 3-3. Trump seized the opportunity, winning three consecutive frames to eventually advance, during which he scored a single-frame high of 139.

Meanwhile, Murphy withstood a strong challenge from fellow Englishman Barry Hawkins, winning with a score of 6-4. Hawkins once rallied from 0-3 down to tie the score at 4-4, but Murphy remained composed, ultimately securing the victory with a break of 123.

Australian player Neil Robertson, after falling behind, reversed the situation to defeat Stuart Bingham 6-4 and will face Mark Selby in the quarter-finals. It is worth noting that Robertson defeated Bingham 10-0 in the recent World Grand Prix final.

English player Selby is eager to win his third title of the season. In his match against Chinese player Si Jiahui, he scored 132, 128, and 99 respectively, ultimately winning with a score of 6-3.
