Two dead, one escapes after car crashes into river in northern NSW

A serious traffic accident occurred in northern New South Wales, where a car plunged into a river, believed to have resulted in the deaths of two men. The accident took place last night at Droneys Bridge Road on Fairy Hill, north of Casino, where the vehicle crashed through the bridge and fell into the Richmond River at approximately 10 p.m.

It is understood that a 22-year-old female passenger was also in the car at the time, and she successfully escaped without any injuries. Currently, rescue operations are underway, aimed at recovering the submerged vehicle and ensuring a thorough investigation.

Police believe the bodies of the two men remain inside the vehicle. Due to the accident investigation and recovery efforts, the road is currently closed, and drivers are advised to avoid the area and choose alternative routes.
