His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, today approved a housing benefits package worth AED 6.75 billion (approximately US$1.84 billion). This initiative is implemented under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, demonstrating a strong commitment to citizen welfare.

The housing benefits package aims to benefit 4,356 Emirati citizens across Abu Dhabi. Specific measures include providing housing loans totaling AED 5.08 billion to 3,172 citizens, allocating land and ready-built homes worth AED 1.585 billion to 1,100 citizens, and exempting 84 elderly citizens, low-income retirees, and beneficiaries of deceased citizens from housing loan repayments, totaling over AED 94.8 million. These comprehensive measures are designed to address diverse housing needs within the community.

Since the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, the implementation of this housing benefits package brings the total number of housing benefits provided to citizens in Abu Dhabi to over 123,000, with a total value of approximately AED 168.85 billion. This substantial investment underscores the government's dedication to providing adequate housing for its citizens.

This housing benefits package, the first of this year and launched on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, reflects the UAE leadership's ongoing commitment to comprehensive development, aimed at enhancing the well-being of Emirati families, ensuring their social stability and happiness, and creating an environment that meets their aspirations, encourages their participation, and empowers them to contribute to the nation's development. This initiative highlights the importance of family and community in the UAE's national agenda.

Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, stated: "The leadership's directives to disburse this housing benefits package reflect their commitment to meeting the aspirations and housing needs of citizens, improving their quality of life, and ensuring the stability and well-being of Emirati families. These initiatives further strengthen social cohesion and promote stability across Abu Dhabi." This reflects the government's focus on citizen satisfaction and community development.

Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, stated that the package aligns with the goals of comprehensive development and the Year of Community, aimed at promoting social cohesion, and emphasizing the importance of adequate housing in building a stable and prosperous society. Al Muhairi added that the Authority continuously strives to strengthen and develop its programs and services, facilitate citizens' access to suitable housing, and contribute to advancing the emirate's housing sector, in accordance with the leadership's directives and ambitious vision for a prosperous future. This ongoing effort ensures continuous improvement in housing services for the citizens of Abu Dhabi.

Last year, Sheikh Khaled approved a housing and benefits package worth AED 2.18 billion on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. The package benefited 1,502 citizens across Abu Dhabi. This consistent support demonstrates a long-term commitment to housing development in the region.
