Hotel fire in popular Bangkok tourist area kills three foreigners

Thai police reported that a fire broke out at a hotel on Khao San Road in Bangkok, resulting in the deaths of three foreign tourists and injuries to several others. Khao San Road is a well-known tourist destination, and this incident has attracted widespread attention.

Police Colonel Sanon Saengmani told the Associated Press that the three people who died in the fire on Sunday night were all foreign tourists. One person died at the scene, and the other two died after being taken to the hospital. The fire occurred on the fifth floor of the six-story Ember Hotel.

Khao San Road is a famous backpacker hub in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, and is known for its vibrant nightlife. At the time of the incident, there were 75 guests staying at the hotel. Police stated that the fire was eventually brought under control, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The fire also injured seven people, including two Thai citizens and five foreign tourists. Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt emphasized that city safety is crucial as New Year's Eve countdown celebrations approach, during which fireworks and other festivities will be held throughout the city.
