U.S. House Representative Nancy Pelosi was hospitalized in Luxembourg after sustaining an injury “during an official engagement,” a spokesperson said. Pelosi, 84, is currently receiving “excellent” care from doctors and medical professionals, spokesperson Ian Krager stated. She is continuing to work.
“While traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation to Luxembourg to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was taken to the hospital for evaluation,” Krager said.
Pelosi “is currently receiving excellent care from doctors and medical professionals. She is continuing to work and regrets that she was unable to participate in the remainder of the Congressional delegation events to honor the courage of our service members in one of the greatest acts of heroism in American history,” Krager said. He also added that Pelosi “looks forward to returning to the United States soon.”
Pelosi's injury comes just days after Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell tripped and fell at the U.S. Capitol, resulting in a wrist sprain and facial abrasions. McConnell, 82, a Kentucky Republican, had “a minor facial abrasion” and was “cleared to resume his schedule,” a spokesperson said in a statement Tuesday.
