Abstract: Wigan Warriors dominated Hull FC 44-4 with a Jai Field hat-trick before their Las Vegas match against Warrington. Coach Peet praised Field's performance.

Wigan Warriors returned to winning ways with a dominant performance at the MKM Stadium, sweeping aside Hull FC in preparation for their upcoming match against Warrington Wolves in Las Vegas next week. Following a historic 1-0 single-point loss to Leigh Leopards last week, Wigan Warriors are heading to the United States, and head coach Matt Peet hopes the team can return to their best form from last season.

In a first half dominated by the Warriors, two tries from Jai Field, and one each from Abbas Miski and Patrick Mago, saw Wigan comprehensively outplay the home side, leading 22-0 at the break. Despite a brief resurgence from the Black and Whites at the start of the second half, with Lewis Martin touching down in the corner to offer a glimmer of hope, the Warriors quickly extinguished their hopes.

Jordan Rapana's short goal-line drop-out backfired, allowing Tom Forber to pounce and add a fifth try, while another clever break from Field, finished off by Jake Wardle, put Wigan further ahead. With 13 minutes remaining, Field completed his hat-trick, capitalizing on a training ground move after a scrum, before Bevan French rounded off the scoring, breaking down the right wing to finish the game.

Hull FC head coach John Cartwright, speaking to BBC Radio Humberside, said: "We were playing a very good team, and they played some really good football. We have to be at our best physically and tactically, and unfortunately, we were nowhere near it. I just felt like we were struggling all game. I thought some of our kicking game was poor at the back end. They're a very strong team, and they'll be there at the Grand Final at the end of the year. They've got quality all over the park, and part of that is because we weren't where we needed to be."

Wigan Warriors head coach Matt Peet said: "I thought it was a good performance. Considering the enthusiasm that Hull FC are playing with at the moment, we knew we were in for a challenge, and we managed to do things right early in the game, which set us up well. We want Jai [Field] involved in the game as much as possible, and we know Jai is at his best when he has the ball in his hands. He's a great player, and he works hard in the game. His game is built on the back of Harry (Smith) and Bevan (French), and the timing is important, so you'll only see him get better and better as the season goes on in that regard."
