American singer Angie Stone has tragically passed away in a car accident at the age of 63. Stone, a three-time Grammy nominee, will be greatly missed in the music world. Her representative, Deborah Champagne, confirmed the news, stating that the accident occurred in Montgomery, Alabama, after she had just finished a performance.

The accident reportedly occurred around 4 a.m. Music producer Walter Millsap III stated in an email to the Associated Press that the vehicle Stone was traveling in "flipped and was subsequently struck by a big truck" en route to Atlanta. Rahiem (born Guy Todd Williams) of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, indicated that there were nine other passengers in the van with Stone at the time of the accident.

Angie Stone, born in South Carolina, initially entered the music scene as a member of the all-female hip-hop trio The Sequence. The group's most popular song, "Funk You Up," reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart. *Rolling Stone* magazine once hailed the song as the first hit rap song performed by women.
