A man's body with knife wounds has been discovered inside a home in Sydney's southwest, and police have charged a man with murder. The case originated when police conducted a welfare check on Lakemba Street in Belmore, where officers found a 34-year-old man dead inside the house around 9 p.m. on Saturday.
Detectives from Campsie Police Area Command and the Homicide Squad subsequently established a crime scene and launched an investigation. A 24-year-old man was taken to Concord Hospital for assessment and was later released without charge.
Around 11:30 a.m. yesterday, police arrested a 21-year-old man at Bankstown Police Station and charged him with murder. The man is scheduled to appear in Bankstown Local Court today.
