Abstract: Min Woo Lee won the Houston Open, his first PGA title, finishing at 20-under. He held off Scheffler & Woodland despite a late bogey.

Australian golfer Min Woo Lee dramatically clinched victory at the Houston Open, securing his first PGA Tour title. His outstanding performance throughout the tournament culminated in a well-deserved trophy.

On the par-5 16th hole, Lee's tee shot found the water, resulting in a bogey. At that point, he held a three-shot lead at 21-under-par over Scottie Scheffler and Gary Woodland. Woodland, however, surged ahead with an eagle and two birdies in the final four holes, matching the course record with a 62 and taking the clubhouse lead at 19-under-par.

World No. 1 Scheffler, playing in the penultimate group, had an opportunity to tie for the lead on the 17th hole, but he missed his birdie putt after four consecutive birdies. Ultimately, he also finished at 19-under-par after a final round of 63. Lee needed to secure par on the 18th hole to ensure victory, which he successfully did, maintaining composure to card a 67 and ultimately win by one stroke at 20-under-par.

"It was tough, really tough," said the 26-year-old Lee after his win. "Scottie is such a great golfer, he keeps you on your toes. It was my first time leading and trying to hold onto the lead. I'm really happy I got it done, but, geez, I'm just really tired. It was a huge mental grind. I'm really proud of the way I handled things."

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy carded an impressive 6-under-par 64, including an eagle, six birdies, and one bogey, ultimately finishing at 15-under-par. "It was a good week," said McIlroy, who hopes to complete a career Grand Slam by winning next month's Masters Tournament in Augusta. "I still feel like there's a few things I need to improve on. Overall, it was a solid week, and it's nice to have another week to prepare and fine-tune my game, getting ready for Augusta. My right elbow is a little sore, so (I'll) maybe just get some treatment on that to make sure it's okay going into Augusta."
