After each round of Premier League matches this season, BBC football commentator Troy Deeney selects his Team of the Week and Manager of the Week. Here are his choices for this week. Do you agree? Please share your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of this page.
This week's best lineup includes: Manchester City's Ederson, although some may think he didn't do much in the 6-0 victory, Deeney believes he needed a clean sheet to regain his form; Aston Villa's Matty Cash, who performed excellently against Arsenal, assisting Ollie Watkins for the second goal; Crystal Palace's Chris Richards, who stepped up and performed well after Trevoh Chalobah returned to Chelsea; Fulham's Joachim Andersen, Deeney still doesn't understand why Crystal Palace let him go, as he continues to show his strength; Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez, Deeney thinks Bournemouth will struggle to keep him, as he scores goals with ease and excels both offensively and defensively; Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai, who performed well against Brentford, is gradually adapting to the team, and almost scored a spectacular goal; Aston Villa's Youri Tielemans, who scored a goal against Arsenal and also hit the post, displaying a solid performance; Bournemouth's Justin Kluivert, who scored three brilliant goals against Newcastle; Manchester City's Phil Foden, who is regaining his form, with goals and assists in two consecutive matches; Everton's Iliman Ndiaye, who performed well against Tottenham and is a bright spot in Everton's attack this season; and Liverpool's Darwin Nunez, who immediately changed the game after coming on as a substitute, scoring two goals in a crazy performance.
Deeney also made a special mention of Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta, who scored twice in the victory against West Ham. This week's Manager of the Week is Chelsea's Enzo Maresca, who was under immense pressure in the game against Wolves. He boldly used Chalobah, who was recalled from Crystal Palace, and ultimately won the match.
Deeney said, "Some people might say, 'Oh, 6-0, he didn't actually do anything,' but I feel like he needed a clean sheet. He's had a bit of a tough time lately." Deeney also stated, "Nunez came on and immediately changed the game, two beautiful goals, almost got sent off – it's the best substitute performance I've seen in a long time. Pure madness."
