NZ police chase down man on allegedly stolen ride-on mower

Recently, a video surfaced showing New Zealand police pursuing a man driving a ride-on lawnmower. The man was allegedly involved in a burglary. This video has garnered widespread attention, showing the police successfully apprehending the suspect during the pursuit.

Auckland police shared the short video on their Instagram account earlier this week, stating that the incident occurred in a rural area called Karaka, south of Auckland. In the video, three officers are seen chasing a man on a lawnmower, quickly closing in on their target. The man glances back while continuing to drive.

The video shows the first officer reaching out and grabbing the man's arm, causing the lawnmower to come to a stop. According to local news outlet Stuff, the 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged with burglary.

Currently, the man remains in custody awaiting trial and is remanded to appear in court on March 21st. The case is still within the judicial process, awaiting further hearings and a verdict.
