Abstract: Antonelli passed his driving test, securing his F1 debut replacing Hamilton at Mercedes alongside Russell. He's completed F1 testing and will test in Bahrain.

Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli passed his driving test just six weeks before the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, clearing the way for his F1 debut. Antonelli will partner with George Russell this season, replacing seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Antonelli turned 18 last August, meeting the minimum age requirement to drive on Italian roads. "Mission accomplished," Mercedes wrote on social media, accompanied by a photo of Antonelli giving a thumbs-up in a driving school car, noting that he has obtained both his driving license and the super license needed to compete in F1.

In preparation for his first F1 season, Antonelli has already completed thousands of miles of F1 car testing. He will share three days of testing with Russell at the official pre-season test in Bahrain from February 26-28.
