Crystal Palace have rejected a bid from Tottenham Hotspur for defender Marc Guehi, with the offer believed to be around £70 million. The England international had previously attracted interest from Newcastle in the summer and has 18 months remaining on his contract with Crystal Palace.
Guehi has made 23 Premier League appearances this season, scoring three goals. Crystal Palace are currently 12th in the league, three points ahead of Tottenham in 14th place. Tottenham are not expected to increase their offer for the 24-year-old during this transfer window.
Previously, Crystal Palace rejected four bids from Newcastle for Guehi in the summer, with the final offer reaching £65 million. Chelsea are also thought to have Guehi on their list of defensive targets, despite selling him to Crystal Palace for £18 million in 2021.
Currently, Crystal Palace only have three fit defenders. Previously, Trevoh Chalobah was recalled by Chelsea, while Chadi Riad has suffered a long-term knee injury. The club had considered signing Portuguese player Tiago Djalo, but they require Juventus to first recall the 24-year-old from Porto before he can join Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, injury-hit Tottenham are looking to strengthen their defense, despite beating Wolves on Sunday and securing the loan signing of Lens defender Kevin Danso. Romanian center-back Radu Dragusin suffered a knee injury in Thursday's Europa League match against Elfsborg, joining Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie on the injury list. Reports suggest Tottenham have also scouted other center-backs, including Chelsea's Axel Disasi and AC Milan's Fikayo Tomori.
Tottenham Hotspur have been contacted for comment on the matter.
