The family of a missing Queensland mother is offering a $5,000 reward for anyone who can provide information about her whereabouts. The mother disappeared in early February and has been missing for a month now, leaving her family increasingly worried.
CCTV footage shows 29-year-old Tayla Spies was last seen on February 2 in a dusty car park in Surat, a rural area of Queensland 80km west of Roma. This 20-second CCTV footage recorded her last known movements, providing a crucial clue for investigators.
Her 2017 Toyota Hilux was reportedly seen passing the Cobb & Co Changing Station just after 11 a.m. before disappearing. Friends of Spies' family are now offering a $5,000 reward for any information that helps locate her, with information able to be sent anonymously to the Facebook page "Missing person Tayla Spies." This reward aims to encourage anyone with potentially relevant information to come forward.
Police conducted searches in the Maranoa region last week and stated that they have been working with Spies' family to find her. However, due to the vast area of the region, spanning 9,000 square kilometers, police have expressed the challenges of knowing where to begin their search. Detective Inspector Garry Watts said on February 22: "We are frustrated that we have not been able to locate the vehicle and Tayla."
Tayla's sister, Rebecca, said in a Facebook video posted last week: "The pain and enormity of her absence grows more intense with each passing day, and worry is consuming us all." She also addressed Tayla directly, saying: "Sis, if you're watching this, I want you to know that you are loved and cherished by so many people."
