Abu Dhabi unveils new initiatives at 6th Al Multaqa meetings to empower private sector

Abstract: Abu Dhabi's Al Multaqa meeting unveiled initiatives to boost the private sector, promote innovation, and drive sustainable economic development.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADDCI), hosted the sixth quarterly Al Multaqa meeting. According to a report, the meeting unveiled a series of new initiatives designed to empower the private sector and drive sustainable economic development in the UAE.

The event highlighted Abu Dhabi's economic development achievements, reflecting the emirate's effective economic diversification strategy, proactive policies, and significant investments in key sectors. These initiatives collectively promote economic growth and establish Abu Dhabi as a leading regional and global economic hub.

The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development. He emphasized Abu Dhabi's commitment to building a smart and diversified economy that integrates advanced technology, human development, and sustainability, paving the way for future generations.

The report added that His Excellency emphasized that fostering entrepreneurship, strengthening public-private sector partnerships, and supporting innovation are crucial to accelerating economic growth and advancing the UAE's diversification goals. His Excellency Shames Al Dhaheri, Second Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), revealed that ADCCI will implement a series of new initiatives as part of its recently launched 2025-2027 roadmap.

These initiatives aim to empower a thriving, agile, and diversified business ecosystem, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and accelerate the UAE's transition to a smart, diversified, and sustainable economy. Key initiatives announced include the launch of a "Policy Testing Lab" to assess the impact of policies on the private sector; a "Partnership Booster" to facilitate access to sustainable digital infrastructure; a centralized "Procurement Platform" for Abu Dhabi Chamber members to connect with local state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and government tenders; and a "Market Export Pulse" to develop specialized, monetizable market and export intelligence products.

ADCCI also announced initiatives to expand access to ESG and digital certifications, enhance ADCCI members' access to export markets, and a "B2B Aggregator" initiative to facilitate B2B bulk purchase negotiations and partnerships. During the meeting, the Chamber introduced its sector working groups, highlighting their role in supporting business development. Representatives from Al Reem Hospital presented the operational mechanisms of these working groups, highlighting collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors to improve industry standards.

The meeting concluded by introducing the Abu Dhabi International Arbitration Centre (arbitrateAD) as a neutral and impartial dispute resolution forum for commercial and governmental entities.
