Abstract: Piastri won the Shanghai GP, but Hamilton, Leclerc and Gasly were disqualified post-race for violations. McLaren scored a 1-2 finish.

Australian Formula One driver Oscar Piastri converted his first career pole position into a victory at the Shanghai race. However, the disqualification of three competitors after the race due to violations has sparked widespread attention.

The McLaren driver delivered a flawless performance in Shanghai, ultimately winning the Chinese Grand Prix. His teammate Lando Norris followed closely behind to secure second place, while Mercedes driver George Russell finished third. This victory marks McLaren's second consecutive Grand Prix win of the season, following Lando Norris's triumph at the Melbourne race last Sunday.

However, Ferrari experienced a disastrous afternoon. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton were both disqualified after finishing fifth and sixth, respectively. Post-race inspections revealed that Leclerc and Gasly's cars were underweight, while Hamilton's car floor thickness did not meet regulations.

During the race, Piastri successfully defended his leading position after the start and capitalized on the clean track conditions to maintain his lead over Norris. Although Norris closed in at one point, Piastri maintained a consistent pace and ultimately crossed the finish line smoothly. After the race, Piastri excitedly said on the team radio: "Well done, guys! Fantastic! It's been a very satisfying weekend."

The FIA report indicated that Leclerc and Gasly's cars initially met the standard during the initial weighing, but after removing two liters of fuel, the car weight was below the minimum requirement of 800 kilograms. The thickness of Hamilton's car floor was also below the minimum standard of 9 millimeters. After the race, team representatives acknowledged the accuracy of the measurements and admitted it was a team error. Ultimately, the stewards decided to disqualify Hamilton. Due to the aforementioned penalties, Esteban Ocon eventually secured fifth place for Haas, a result worth celebrating. Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli finished sixth, followed by Alex Albon, Oli Bearman, Lance Stroll, and Carlos Sainz.
