The Nadi Meteorological Service in Fiji has announced that Tropical Cyclone "Lei" has moved out of Fijian waters. Nevertheless, the associated strong to gale-force winds continue to affect the southern Lau Group.
Currently, Vatoa Island, Ono-i-Lau Island, Moce Island, Komo Island, Namuka-i-Lau Island, Kabara Island, Fulaga Island, and Ogea Island remain under a gale warning. The Yasawa Group, the northern and central Lau Group, Kadavu Island, and its nearby islands remain under a strong wind warning.
The strong wind warning previously issued for the northeastern part of Viti Levu (the Taveuni area north of Tailevu), the Mamanuca Islands, and the eastern part of Vanua Levu has now been cancelled. However, the Nadi Meteorological Service added that the heavy rain warning remains in effect for the entire Fiji group, and the flash flood warning for all streams and low-lying, flood-prone areas of Fiji is also still in effect.
