Fijian Minister for Education, Mr. Aseri Radrodro, has announced that all schools nationwide will be closed tomorrow due to a tropical cyclone alert.
This decision was made in consultation with the National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO). Relevant departments conducted a comprehensive assessment of the weather warnings and determined that school closures were a necessary measure to ensure student safety.
Minister Radrodro urged parents and guardians to take proactive measures to ensure the safety of their children. He emphasized that safety is the top priority and hopes that parents will closely monitor weather information and prepare for disaster prevention.
It is important to note that all schools outside of the Lau Group, Lomaiviti, and Vanua Levu will remain open tomorrow. Schools in these regions are not included in the closure due to their geographical location and the lesser extent to which they are affected by the cyclone.
