Abstract: Fiji is under heavy rain alert due to Tropical Disturbance 09F. It may intensify into a tropical depression, bringing flooding, landslides, and strong winds.

Currently, a heavy rain alert has been issued for the northern division of Fiji, the Yasawa Group, the Lau Group, the Lomaiviti Group, Kadavu, and the eastern half of Viti Levu (from Sigatoka to Ra). These regions are advised to take necessary precautions against potential flooding and landslides.

Tropical Disturbance 09F is located in the far northeast of Fiji. The Nadi Meteorological Service indicates that the disturbance is expected to gradually intensify and move southwards, approaching Fiji. Residents should monitor weather updates closely as the situation develops.

The Fiji Meteorological Department stated, "The disturbance is expected to enter Fiji waters late Sunday and may intensify into a tropical depression." This potential intensification poses an increased risk of adverse weather conditions across the islands.

"An active trough of low pressure associated with the disturbance, as well as strong to near gale force winds, are expected to affect parts of the country from later tomorrow." These conditions could lead to disruptions in transportation and other daily activities.

Intermittent rain is expected from later tomorrow for the northern division, the Yasawa Group, the Lau Group, the Lomaiviti Group, Kadavu, and the eastern half of Viti Levu (from Sigatoka to Ra). The public is advised to stay informed and prepared for possible disruptions due to the inclement weather.
