Renowned Rhythm and Blues (RnB) singer Angie Stone tragically passed away in a car accident in Alabama over the weekend at the age of 63. Ms. Stone was on her way home after just finishing a performance. Her passing has deeply saddened countless fans, who have taken to social media to express their remembrance of this musical pioneer.
Ms. Stone, a Grammy-nominated artist, was a member of the all-female hip-hop trio The Sequence and was known for her hit song "Wish I Didn't Miss You." The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency stated that the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van Ms. Stone was traveling in overturned on Interstate 65 early Saturday morning and was subsequently struck by a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia truck. Ms. Stone was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred approximately 8 kilometers south of the Montgomery city limits. The driver of the van and seven others were transported to hospitals for treatment. Officials are still investigating the cause of the accident.
Ms. Stone created many hit songs, such as "No More Rain (In This Cloud)," which topped the Billboard Adult RnB radio chart for 10 consecutive weeks, another chart-topper "Baby" with legendary soul singer Betty Wright, as well as "Wish I Didn't Miss You" and "Brotha."
