Abstract: Australia joins F1 Academy in 2025 with racers Joanne Ciconte & Aiva Anagnostiadis. This debut supports female talent & diversity in motorsport.

Australia will send representatives to the all-female Formula One Academy series for the first time. Teenage racers Joanne Ciconte and Aiva Anagnostiadis will join the 2025 season lineup, marking Australia's debut in the competition. This move underscores Australia's commitment to supporting female talent in motorsport.

Formula One Academy was established in 2023 to provide a pathway for female drivers to enter F1. The series is highly anticipated to cultivate more outstanding female racers and break down the long-standing gender barriers in motorsport. Its creation is a significant step towards promoting diversity and inclusion in the racing world.

Historically, only five women have participated in F1 Grand Prix races, and no woman has attempted to qualify since the early 1990s. Anagnostiadis was announced last week as one of the drivers for the Hitech TGR team, while Ciconte was announced last night as joining the MP Motorsport team. Their participation aims to inspire future generations of female drivers.

Ciconte has experience competing in Australian F4 and Spanish F4 events and won the prestigious Australian Kart Championship pink plate in 2023. Anagnostiadis has participated in the Motorsport Games and also competed in the Indian F4 series last year. These two young drivers are the first Australians to enter the F1 Academy, representing a significant milestone for Australian motorsport.

Ciconte stated in a report on F1.com: "To be able to race in front of huge crowds and Formula One stars, and to do it on a Grand Prix weekend, is a dream come true. To be able to do it with such an experienced team like MP Motorsport is all I could ask for." The 2025 F1 Academy series will hold seven rounds, with the first race taking place in China on March 21st. This inaugural race in China is expected to generate considerable excitement and attention.
