Abstract: James Anderson, retired Test bowler, enters "The Hundred" draft after a long absence from white-ball cricket, last playing in 2019. He aims for a debut after focusing on Tests.

England's legendary former fast bowler James Anderson has announced his participation in the draft for this year's "The Hundred," potentially making his debut in the tournament. The 42-year-old veteran retired from Test cricket last year and has signed to play for Lancashire County Cricket Club in the upcoming season.

As England's leading Test cricket wicket-taker, Anderson has confirmed his entry into "The Hundred" and will participate in the draft event on March 12. Previously, Anderson had registered for this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) auction but was ultimately not selected.

Anderson has not participated in any form of white-ball cricket since representing Lancashire in a one-day cup semi-final in 2019. His last T20 appearance was in 2014, when he represented Lancashire in the Blast final, losing to Warwickshire.

Like his long-time England new-ball partner Stuart Broad, Anderson has been absent from "The Hundred" since its inception in 2021, primarily to maintain his fitness and focus on Test cricket. This participation in the draft marks a new chapter in his career.
