Solomon Water is proud to join the global celebration of International Women's Day 2025, themed "Accelerate Action for Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment." Solomon Water is committed to supporting this important cause and celebrating the contributions of its female employees, recognizing their essential role in the company's success.
Organized by the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs, the event will be held at the National Museum grounds from March 11th to 13th. During this time, Solomon Water will have a dedicated booth on-site to provide customers with vital information regarding 2025 water tariffs, how water bills are calculated, illegal connections (identification and reporting), customer awareness, and customer service, ensuring transparency and accessibility of information.
The Billing, Customer Service, and Communications teams will be present throughout the three-day event to engage with customers and address any inquiries. Furthermore, the public will have the opportunity to meet Solomon Water's female employees, learn about their roles, and gain insight into their contributions to Solomon Water and the community, aligning with the 2025 International Women's Day theme, which emphasizes the importance of women's empowerment and recognizes their valuable contributions to the workforce.
Solomon Water is proud to have 60 female employees, representing a quarter of its workforce of over 250 staff, spread across Honiara and the provinces. These women excel in various roles crucial to the organization's success, with their contributions spanning technical and field roles, such as plumbers, water quality technicians, heavy equipment operators, wastewater team leaders, meter reading team leaders, and customer connection team leaders; customer service and finance roles, such as cashiers, billing officers, payroll administrators, and customer service officers; administrative and management roles, such as human resources assistants, IT coordinators, project engineers, land management officers, and warehouse and inventory team leaders; and important community and communication positions, including water, sanitation, and hygiene officers, community liaison officers, and communication officers. Solomon Water's women also contribute at the executive management level, shaping the organization's future and strategic direction.
In addition to its public engagement at the National Museum grounds, Solomon Water will also hold special International Women's Day 2025 cake-cutting ceremonies at its BJS Building and Mataniko office to recognize the dedication and achievements of its female employees. Solomon Water remains committed to promoting gender equality and supporting women in all aspects of its operations. We encourage the public to visit our booth to learn more about our services and celebrate the invaluable contributions of women in water service delivery, reinforcing the importance of their roles in ensuring access to clean and safe water for all.
