The "Mi Save Solo 2024" industry buyer/seller meeting, organized by the Solomon Islands Tourism Board, has been a resounding success, with buyers from Australia and New Zealand giving the event a satisfaction rating of 4.8 out of 5.
Held at the Heritage Park Hotel in Honiara, the event provided international buyers with exclusive opportunities to connect with Solomon Islands tourism operators, experience products firsthand in Honiara and the Western Province, and establish valuable partnerships to boost the local tourism industry.
Dagnel Dereveke, Acting CEO of the Solomon Islands Tourism Board, stated that the feedback received was overwhelmingly positive. “Attendees were extremely pleased with the on-the-ground experiences and face-to-face interactions with local operators,” he said. “This has inspired many buyers to support the development of our tourism industry, with one buyer even volunteering to train local suppliers on how to work with overseas agents.”
The success of the 2024 event further solidifies "Mi Save Solo's" position as an initiative that promotes tourism while bridging the gap between local suppliers and the international market. The event is now firmly established as a biennial highlight, driving growth, collaboration, and new opportunities for the Solomon Islands tourism sector.
