Abstract: Trump criticizes his portrait in Colorado Capitol, calling it "distorted" and unlike him. He wants it removed, claiming Coloradans agree.

U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his dissatisfaction with a recent portrait of him. Trump believes the portrait, which hangs in the Colorado State Capitol, is "distorted and inaccurate," and he accuses Colorado Governor Jared Polis of commissioning it.

Trump voiced his displeasure with the portrait on his social media platform, Truth Social, and called for its removal. He stated that he would rather have no portrait hanging in the State Capitol and claimed that Colorado residents are also unhappy with the painting.

"Nobody likes their bad pictures or portraits," Trump wrote on Sunday night, local time. "But the one in the Colorado State Capitol, put up by the Governor… is REALLY bad, distorted, and simply doesn’t even look like me, perhaps never did."

Trump pointed out that the artist, Sarah Boardman, had previously painted a portrait of him during the Obama administration. "He looks great, but the one of me is REALLY BAD," he added. "She must have lost her talent with age. In any event, I’d rather have no picture at all than THAT one." Trump also claimed, "Many people in Colorado are calling and writing to complain. In fact, they are VERY ANGRY about it!"

Trump then stated that Polis should "be ashamed" for hanging the portrait. He also shared his official presidential portrait on Truth Social. It is understood that the controversial portrait was unveiled by Boardman in 2019.
