The Princess of Wales revealed that her cancer is in remission after undergoing treatment earlier this year. In a social media statement released on Tuesday (early Wednesday Australian Eastern time), she expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported her and her husband, Prince William.
“We couldn’t have asked for any more,” the Princess wrote in her statement. She also stated, “The care and advice we have received during my time as a patient has been outstanding.” These words convey her deep appreciation for the medical team.
Princess Kate made a private visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, a world-leading cancer center renowned for its groundbreaking research. She had previously received treatment there, though this was not made public. Upon arriving at the hospital's main entrance, the Princess said, "I was just saying, coming in the front door, having done so many quiet, private visits, it actually feels quite nice.”
Kensington Palace emphasized that the Princess will continue to gradually resume public engagements. The palace stated that this visit reflects her "personal journey with cancer." The Royal Family has been deeply affected by health issues over the past year, starting with the announcement in January 2024 that the King would undergo treatment for an enlarged prostate, and Princess Kate would undergo abdominal surgery.
In February, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer. Six weeks later, Princess Kate revealed that she was also undergoing cancer treatment, which quelled the endless speculation about her health that had been circulating on social media since her surgery. The hospital she visited is the same one where she received her treatment.
