Abstract: US vs Oman: No pacers bowled in ODI for first time. US defended lowest-ever total (122) with spin, winning by 57 runs. Kenjige took 5-11.

The United States and Oman made history in an International Cricket Council Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 match held in Al Amerat on Tuesday: neither side used any fast bowlers for their bowling attack.

All 61 overs of the match were bowled by spin bowlers, marking the first instance in 4,671 Men's One Day International (ODI) cricket matches where no fast or seam bowlers were involved. The United States were bowled out for 122 in 35.3 overs, defeating the host Oman by 57 runs, which is also the lowest total ever successfully defended in a Men's ODI.

The previous record was held by India's 125-run victory against Pakistan in 1985, a lead of 38 runs. US bowler Nosthush Kenjige delivered an outstanding performance, achieving a career-best 5-11, while Oman were bowled out for 65 in 25.3 overs.

The 19 wickets taken by spin bowlers also tied the record set in a 2011 match between Bangladesh and Pakistan for the most wickets taken by spinners in a single Men's ODI. The remaining wicket was a run out.

The combined total of 187 runs is the second-lowest match aggregate in Men's ODI history, only surpassed by the 163-run match between India and Bangladesh in 2014. Previously, the Paarl Royals became the first team to bowl 20 overs of spin in a match in January's SA20 game against the Pretoria Capitals.
