The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced that amendments to the Labor Law will come into effect this Wednesday. These amendments are based on Cabinet Resolution No. 117 issued on 2/2/1446 AH (2024) and Royal Decree No. 44 promulgated on February 8, 2024.
These amendments aim to enhance employment stability and improve the efficiency of the labor market to meet the needs of the private sector. According to the ministry's announcement, the new amendments involve modifying 38 articles of the regulations, deleting 7 articles, and introducing two new articles. These adjustments are designed to further develop contractual relationships between employers, guarantee their rights, and create a more attractive and stable work environment, aligning with the labor market strategy.
The ministry emphasized that these amendments are an important part of achieving the goals of "Vision 2030." This includes promoting national economic growth, expanding career opportunities, and strengthening the role of the private sector in development. Furthermore, the ministry clarified that the implementing regulations and other related regulations will be released simultaneously with the implementation of the amendments, in accordance with the Cabinet's decision.
