A 24-year-old man, Kalineli Masibalavu, has been accused of murdering a 25-year-old man last November. Masibalavu has denied the charge and appeared before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe in the Suva High Court today, facing a murder charge.

03-06, 2025It is alleged that Masibalavu stabbed the victim, Sanaila Bavessi, during an argument in Suva on the night of November 2nd last year. Bavessi was rushed to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital for treatment but unfortunately died after being admitted.
Unnar Lall appeared on behalf of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Justice Rajasinghe has adjourned the case to May 7th for a pre-trial conference. Masibalavu's bail has been extended.
