On a busy highway in [New Zealand](https://www.9news.com.au/new-zealand "New Zealand"), a driver suffered a sudden illness, causing the vehicle to lose control. To stop the out-of-control car, several commuters bravely took action, disregarding the oncoming traffic.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:18 a.m. (6:18 a.m. AEDT) on Tuesday on Auckland's Northwestern Motorway. Dashcam footage shows the out-of-control white Toyota hatchback drifting across multiple lanes.

Drivers who noticed the vehicle's erratic behavior quickly sprang into action. Several workers ran towards the car, attempting to prevent it from hitting the highway shoulder or other vehicles. They caught up with the car, trying to alert the driver, and then a third person reached into the window to help control the vehicle's direction.

Jeff Benjamin was one of the concerned citizens who helped guide the car safely to the side of the road, and the video shows him hanging out of the driver's side window. Benjamin posted a video of the incident online, stating that the driver had suffered an epileptic seizure.

Benjamin stated that the people wearing orange were his colleagues. He said, "We pulled him out of the car because he didn't look like he was breathing. Unfortunately, he had another seizure, so we had to restrain him as best we could to avoid him rolling onto the road. My colleagues provided excellent teamwork, and I really couldn't have done it without them." Following the incident, the driver was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
