Abstract: Businessman Nadi seeks info on $26K stolen beer. A fake cruise employee took 3700 bottles with a bad check on Christmas Eve. Police are investigating.

A businessman named Nadi is offering a reward for information to help him recover $26,000 worth of beer that was stolen during the Christmas holidays. Torsten Hessel, the owner of German beverage company Fiji Drinks, said that a man posing as a cruise line employee "purchased" over 3,700 bottles of beer.

“They called and ordered 3,700 bottles of beer, totaling $26,000,” Mr. Hessel said. “They came here on Christmas Eve and presented a check for the same amount.” At the time, Mr. Hessel thought it was a normal business transaction as everything seemed legitimate, and the check they provided even had the company’s logo on it.

“I only discovered the problem when I tried to cash the check after the holidays, and it bounced.” He immediately reported the incident to the police. “It’s been almost three weeks, and we are still waiting for a response, so I have no choice but to offer a reward. We can’t wait any longer.”

The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
