Trump, Sheikh Tahnoon discuss strengthening UAE-U.S. ties in key sectors

His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, recently held talks with former US President Donald Trump, during which His Highness particularly emphasized the importance of strengthening investment in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced technology. At a dinner held in his honor at the White House, Sheikh Tahnoun conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to Trump and thanked Trump for his "warm welcome and hospitality."

Sheikh Tahnoun stated in a post on social media platform X that the talks mainly revolved around strengthening cooperative relationships in key areas such as infrastructure, industry, energy, and healthcare. He added, "These areas represent important pillars of growth and sustainable development." The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on further consolidating the strategic partnership between the two countries in key areas.

Sheikh Tahnoun further pointed out, "Our discussions focused on the future of the long-term strategic partnership between the two countries, and on strengthening our shared vision for prosperity and progress." He also stated, "The leadership styles of both countries and their economic policies are important drivers for encouraging foreign direct investment and strengthening existing economic partnerships between the two countries."

Trump also posted on Truth Social, stating that the discussion with Sheikh Tahnoun explored "how the two countries can strengthen their partnership to promote our economic and technological future." He wrote, "This evening showcased the long-standing ties and bonds of friendship between the two countries." He added, "The UAE and the United States have long been working partners in bringing peace and security to the Middle East and the world."
