Policing minister visits grassroot communities on Taveuni

Fijian Minister for Police, Iowane Naivalurua, visited several communities on Taveuni Island this week. The primary purpose of the trip was to attend the traditional Vakasenukakanuqa ceremony held for the President of Fiji, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere.

Minister Naivalurua stated, "During my time on Taveuni, I also took the opportunity to visit grassroots communities and villages, not only to introduce them to the government's various programs, but also to personally listen to their concerns." This engagement allowed him to gain a deeper understanding of the local issues.

He emphasized, "Direct communication with the people ensures that policies and initiatives truly reflect their needs and aspirations." This approach is crucial for effective governance and community development.

In addition, Minister Naivalurua inspected the construction site for the new police post in Vuna. This inspection highlights the government's commitment to improving law enforcement infrastructure in the region.
