Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro stated that the Ministry of Education will continue to dedicate itself to enhancing the quality of education nationwide. He emphasized that the coalition government consistently supports and provides the necessary resources for the Ministry of Education.
Speaking at the induction ceremony of the student council at Natabua High School, the Minister pointed out the government's continued provision of free education grants, including a $200 back-to-school allowance and free textbooks. Furthermore, accommodation allowances and transportation assistance, including bus fares, are provided to ensure that all students have access to educational opportunities.
He also mentioned that the Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Scheme (TSLS) has enabled many students to realize their dreams of pursuing higher education. Simultaneously, the Ministry of Education has reinstated the position of school chaplain in 13 public schools, including Natabua High School, to provide emotional and spiritual support to students. The Minister emphasized: "This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the government to support students and prepare them for a successful future."
Minister Radrodro stated that over the past three years, he has met with school principals to review their responsibilities and identify the weak points of the schools. He added that the meetings are aimed at "consolidating our strengths and discussing how to address the growing needs and challenges in the education sector."
