31,000 marijuana plants found on Kadavu

The Fiji Police Force recently announced the seizure of 31,000 marijuana plants in the tikina of Ono over the past week. This operation is part of "Operation Sasamaki," aimed at combating illegal drug cultivation and distribution in the region. Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu stated that investigators are actively pursuing the identification of the farm owners involved in the illegal cultivation. The Kadavu task force is making good progress, having successfully seized marijuana plants from several farms and apprehended suspects. In a separate raid, a 19-year-old man was arrested after nearly 4,000 marijuana plants were discovered on a farm in the tikina of Yale. These operations underscore the commitment to bringing those involved in drug production to justice.

Commissioner Tudravu added that the officers involved in "Operation Sasamaki" are in high spirits and united in their goal to disrupt, dismantle, and destroy illegal drug networks. He emphasized, "I understand the various comments directed at the operation, but for the sake of our children, grandchildren, and future generations, we will not stop and will persevere to the end." Commissioner Tudravu pointed out that despite the numerous challenges faced by officers in remote and geographically complex areas, they remain committed to their duty. "We anticipate resistance and hostility from those involved, but we will not back down."
